XRP Taker Ratio Nears Equilibrium on Binance Amidst Price Stagnation

XRP’s taker buy/sell ratio on the cryptocurrency exchange Binance has approached a state of balance, indicating a potential easing of aggressive trading pressures. However, the token’s price has not mirrored this shift, remaining largely stagnant.

On November 5, the 14-day simple moving average (SMA) of XRP’s taker buy/sell ratio on Binance reached 0.998, a figure close to 1.0. This suggests that the volume of XRP bought by takers was nearly equal to the volume sold by takers. At the time, XRP was trading around $1.206.

This development marks a significant change from just three days prior, on November 2, when the ratio stood at 0.896. The seven-day average has also seen an upward trend, climbing to 0.976, which points to a reduction in selling pressure.

Despite this improvement in the taker ratio, XRP’s price action has told a less optimistic story. The token experienced a decline from $1.25 on November 2 to approximately $1.21 by November 5, even as the taker ratio showed signs of recovery. This divergence implies that while aggressive selling on Binance may have subsided, new buying demand has not yet materialized to drive prices higher.

The trading dynamics could also have been influenced by the Binance hot-wallet hack that occurred on October 29, during which an estimated $6.2 billion to $6.4 billion was reportedly stolen. It remains unverified whether this incident had a direct impact on XRP taker activity.

Broader market indicators, such as the dollar index, which stood at 101.56 and remained relatively stable over the past month, do not offer a direct correlation to XRP’s trading flows.

One potential explanation for the cooling of aggressive selling could be a reduction in forced selling following recent price declines. The Binance hack might have also played a role in influencing trading activity, though neither scenario has been definitively confirmed.

Currently, the XRP taker buy/sell ratio on Binance offers a modest indication of easing pressure, rather than concrete evidence of a market turnaround. The current reading is based on a limited timeframe, and claims that it has reached its highest level since August require further verification against the complete historical data series.
