Pump.fun’s mobile application has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing Fomo in daily active Solana traders and maintaining that lead for four consecutive days. This development is particularly noteworthy given the substantial gap that existed between the two platforms just weeks prior, a lead that typically takes months to close.
A Rapid Shift in User Engagement
On October 17, 2026, Fomo recorded 105,727 daily active users, dwarfing Pump.fun’s 26,515. Fomo held a four-to-one user advantage. However, by late October, the landscape had transformed dramatically. Daily active wallets on both platforms converged, fluctuating between approximately 48,000 and 52,000, bringing the two applications to a near standstill.
The turning point occurred in the lead-up to late October 2026, when Pump.fun’s app overtook Fomo in daily active Solana traders for four consecutive days, marking its first time in the lead.
Metrics Tell a Nuanced Story
While user counts shifted, other metrics reveal a more complex picture. As of October 25, 2026, Solana trading terminal data indicated Fomo with 52.3K daily active wallets compared to Pump.fun’s 48.4K.
Beyond sheer numbers, trading volume offers further insight. Between October 21 and 24, Pump.fun’s trading volume reached nearly 50% of Fomo’s, even as their daily active trader counts became almost identical.
Fomo also maintained higher average swap sizes and a considerable lead in overall volume. A swap represents a single trade of one token for another, meaning Fomo traders, on average, are engaging in larger transactions.
Revenue figures from September 2026 show Fomo temporarily outperforming Pump.fun in daily revenue, generating $1.76 million to Pump.fun’s $1.1 million. Fomo also led in seven-day revenue for that month.
Divergent Strategies and Future Ambitions
The two platforms approach the market with distinct strategies. Pump.fun operates as a memecoin launchpad on Solana, enabling users to create new tokens and allowing traders to access them early. Fomo positions itself as a social trading platform, drawing users by allowing them to observe and follow the activities of other traders, akin to a group chat with integrated trading capabilities.
Pump.fun’s response to Fomo’s growth has been a strategic push into mobile. Its trading app has been instrumental in closing the user gap, and the company is now focused on integrating additional features to retain users within its ecosystem. Planned additions to its roadmap include perpetuals, gacha mechanics, and a cross-chain bridge. Perpetuals are derivative contracts enabling leveraged trading on price movements without an expiry date. Gacha mechanics, borrowed from mobile gaming, involve players spending to obtain randomized rewards. A cross-chain bridge will allow users to transfer assets between blockchains seamlessly within the app.
User Loyalty and Emerging Challenges
The rapid shift in user engagement highlights the apparent thinness of user loyalty within Solana trading applications. A lead of over 79,000 daily users on October 17 narrowed to a near tie within days.
For Pump.fun, this user acquisition comes with a caveat. Achieving parity in user numbers with Fomo while operating at roughly half the trading volume suggests the app is attracting smaller traders or those who are less consistently active.
